  • Be available to complete 1 week face-to-face training and 4 weeks of placement in a veterinary practice

THEORY STUDY

Once accepted you will complete part of the theory component of the qualification. You receive comprehensive, illustrated course notes. There are online activities and quizzes to complete for assessment.

FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP

You must attend a 5 day “work-preparation program” with AIRC. This is an intensive workshop where your are taught, practice and are assessed in the skills you will need in the workplace. The workshop is conducted at a training venue associated with a veterinary practice.

WORK PLACEMENT

You will then be placed in a veterinary clinic to complete a 4 week work experience. With the help of AIRC and your workplace mentor you will be guided through learning the practical, day-to-day skills of a junior veterinary nurse. Your workplace mentor asseses whether you are able to perfom these skills.

FINAL ASSESSMENT
